Is it free?
Yes, completely. Cat Bot is free and open source — no premium tier, no paywalled commands.
What's the difference between Cat, Catboy, and Catgirl Bot?
Nothing but the name — it's the exact same bot. Discord lets you give any
bot a nickname per server, and catboy.is-a.bot /
catgirl.is-a.bot are just reskinned invite links showing that off.
Once it's in your server, rename it to whatever fits — cat.is-a.bot
is the neutral default it ships under.
Does it store what I type?
No. Messages are only checked in-memory for meow/bark words; nothing is stored. The only thing saved is a running count — your Discord user ID and a number per category, nothing more. See the Privacy Policy for details.
How do I stop being counted?
Run /optout anytime. Counting stops immediately; your existing
totals stay exactly as they are. /optin resumes it.
Can I get my data deleted?
Yes — reach out via the contact in the Privacy Policy and we'll remove your counts.
Does it work across multiple servers?
Yes. One bot process serves every server it's invited to. /stats
can show this server's totals or the sum across all of them.
Is the source code public?
It's built in the open and released under an open-source license. A public repo link will be added here once it's live.
